{"id":1036,"date":"2024-04-15T18:16:32","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T07:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.myallu3a.org.au\/home\/?p=1036"},"modified":"2024-05-24T18:29:31","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T07:29:31","slug":"april-2024-photo-of-the-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myallu3a.org.au\/home\/newsworthy\/photography\/april-2024-photo-of-the-month\/","title":{"rendered":"April 2024 Photo of the Month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This month\u2019s photo topic was \u201cWaterfalls\u201d and the photo was taken by photographer Richard Crombie<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tranquil scene was taken at Halls Falls after a walk through the beautiful forest near Pyengana, east of St Helens, in the north east of Tasmania.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halls Falls lies on the Groom River and drops from a hand-made nineteenth&nbsp;century weir, located&nbsp;upstream from the waterfall. The weir remains from a time when Chinese miners worked the region&#8217;s rich mineral veins for tin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 1880s tin was widely used for household utensils, including pots, pans, candleholders, oil lamps and lanterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Richard took the photo using a Canon 6D MkII, tripod mounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Settings; 6 seconds, f\/8 ISO 320 with a 24mm lens.
