Course Overview: Psychology Across the Lifespan: Understanding Ourselves and Others
This ongoing psychology course explores key themes in human behaviour, emotion,
memory, relationships, and wellbeing. Each term focuses on a different topic \u2014 for example
trauma and memory, anxiety, resilience, relationships, personality, grief, cognitive ageing, or
habit change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sessions draw on contemporary psychological research and clinical insight, presented in an
accessible and discussion-based format. The aim is to deepen understanding of how the
mind works and how psychological principles can be applied in everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Topics may include:
– How memory works
– Emotional regulation and resilience
– Relationships and attachment
– Stress and coping
– Personality and identity
– Ageing and cognitive change
– Meaning-making in later life<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sessions are educational rather than therapeutic in nature. Participants are welcome to
contribute to discussion but are never required to share personal experiences.
No prior psychology knowledge required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
